The Modern Outdoor Space- Evodia Solar Tables Arrive at UDC
The University of the District of Columbia (UDC) at 4200 Connecticut Ave NW Washington, DC 2008, is the first of many prime locations in the nation’s capital to integrate SolGreen® Solutions Corp. innovative technology, the Evodia Solar Table (Evodia ST1), onto their campus to cultivate what is now becoming the modern outdoor space. This new path forward is strengthening sustainable development, public safety and access to crucial power amenities in outdoor public spaces.
Facilities previously thought of exterior spaces to only consist of landscaping, lighting and seating. In today’s world of greater connectivity, individuals are requiring the spaces they inhabit to provide greater accommodation for their everyday needs. In a recent poll regarding outdoor spaces- 90% of people are express needs for more areas to comfortably access power, charge devices (non-standing) and connect to Wi-Fi and streaming outdoors.
The Evodia Solar Table, developed by SolGreen® in 2012, is an all in one solution to the needs of people and the facilities that fuel engagement and connectivity in our communities. Built as the only commercial grade solar table in the U.S., SolGreen’s technology provides 24 hours of power for device charging (4 USB and 4 GFCI outlets), ADA compliant canopied shelter and seating, Wi-Fi access, LED Lighting and patented safety technology used only by SolGreen®, that protects users during inclement weather and allows two-way communication between first responders and citizens. The Evodia Solar Tables in Miami, FL famously withstood the category three (3) Hurricane Irma (Miami, FL 2017) and provided users and facilities with 100% renewable power the next day, allowing victims of the storm to access power while the grid was down.
Installed at UDC over the Christmas break, 12/10/18, the four (4) custom red and black Evodia Solar Tables (Evodia ST-1) host four attached seats each, featured with LED lights that automatically power on in evening sun set and turn off at morning sun rise. The US Patented Evodia ST-1 are also equipped with a Rain Detection System which automatically shut down power during rainy conditions. The four solar tables are ready for daily use by students who will return in mid-January to more options on how they can safely work, relax, and stay connected. Evodia Solar Table units are currently deployed at over 20 locations in the U.S. and Canada, the expansion of this technology in 2019 looks to make SolGreen® a recognized name in the advancement of practical and scalable clean energy solutions in the U.S.
The SolGreen Evodia ST-1 is manufactured in Phoenix, AZ and brings together steel, fiberglass and PV systems engineers working together producing a reliable, high-quality durable product that serves facilities and its users for years.
SolGreen aims to continue innovating and providing disruptive clean technology solutions to directly impact and benefit the lives of people around the world.
We thank UDC for being the first university and location in Washington DC to install Evodia Solar Tables on their campus as we look forward to future DC installations in 2019.
